Create a website they said… It’ll be easy they said…

By day I run a diaper bank in my home town. I am the webmaster… I create all of the content and change the themes and publish it to the web. I was excited to create my own personal website for Self Care Aware. To my dismay it wasn’t as easy as I had expected. I created a beautiful website that came out gorgeous, but once I went live and tried to view it on a mobile device it looked as if I threw everything I created in to a pile! I was horrified! Thank God for my daughter Bella who came to my rescue. She was able to create a complete website for me in 4 hours. Did I mention it took me a month and a half??

It’s times like these that I try to remember to stop and give myself a little praise for what I did do well! I collected some great content, created beautiful digital material and a wrote a description of this website from the first word to the last!

So how will I care for myself? This weekend I am taking some time out to do some painting I am also creating foot soaks for the next upcoming Self Care Box! I love being creative and having that outlet. After I have had a chance to create something I feel relaxed and rejuvenated. I have learned that if I expect and take a lot out of myself I have to put something back in and this is how I do it.

How does it make you feel? What do you do to care for self-care? Do you have self-care rituals?

Be on the look out for self care events and opportunities right here on the website!

I live on Cape Cod in Massachusetts I am very lucky to live near beautiful beaches. They are a place of comfort for me! My husband and I have lived in our home for 29 years. By day I am the Director of a Non-Profit diaper bank for the Council of Churches called A Baby Center. I created Self Care Aware to support individuals mental wellness and to bring them a bit of peace and joy by providing a subscription box of items that together can set you up for some well needed me time. We try to include treats for the senses, like candles, food treats, journaling, meditation, body care items, art supplies, tea, or coffee, maybe some bling, or a cute bag? All of this to say lets make today special just for you! Or look what you could do for someone else to brighten their day. Everything is useful and has a purpose and all you need to do is a a little bit of time and care just for you!
